Southfork Ranch
No trip to the Dallas area is complete without a visit to Southfork Ranch, the iconic setting of the 1980s television series Dallas. Just a quick drive southwest from Mesquite, this scenic park encompasses over 1,800 acres of rolling hills, forested trails, a fishing pond and picturesque Lake Joe Pool. For a truly unique experience, visit the Mesquite Metro Airport for a sky-high adventure. Each September, Mesquite skies fill with colorful hot air balloons during the city’s vibrant Balloon Fest. For three days, pilots perform beautiful balloon glows and launches throughout the weekend. During the day, a sunrise pilot fly-in kicks off mass ascensions where dozens of balloons launch and float across the horizon.
